provide a sociological perspective on a particular health issue, and then write a short
reflection on what you have learned during this process.
You will then use these 3 sources in Assessment 2, when you will be required to develop a
sociological analysis of your chosen health issue using the academic literature. As these 2
assessments are linked, please read the Assessment 2 requirements before beginning
Assessment 1.

Choose ONE of the following health issues:

? Illegal drug use amongst young people in Australia;
? Mental health issues amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians;
? Obesity amongst adults in Australia (18+ years); or
? Social isolation amongst older people in Australia (60+ years).
